Working alongside Natasha Sideris, CEO of Tashas Group and Verhaal, the interior architecture firm, we were tasked to create an identity for this new glamorous, intimate and champagne bar in Abu Dhabi. Perlage, the sister bar to the internationally acclaimed Galaxy Bar also from the Group, required a brand design that complimented the space, bathed in gorgeous silvers and indulgent shades of red, abundant with beautiful bespoke art and plentiful with red disco balls that was edgy, sexy, and energetic with incredible attention to the detail that the Group has become know for.

Our biggest challenge lay in creating an identity that was both sexy and edgy without feeling contrived or controlled. The entire look and feel needed to be vibrant, energetic and almost unfinished like a spontaneous work of graffiti. Another challenge presented itself in how the branding of Perrier Jouet, the brand partner in the bar, would be seamlessly woven into the space and other communication elements.

The result, in the client’s words, “compliments my vision of wanting the concept to feel like it would have been the perfect setting for a Rolling Stones after-party”. The logo, in opulent red or gold, appears hand-written. The menu, akin to a poet’s diary in red velvet and gold foiling, features handwritten notes. The vibrant, murals, created by a group of contemporary artists, embellish the walls, seamlessly including Perrier Jouet’s “anemone”, and are also interwoven into many elements of the brand design.
